A British actor, born in Wexford, Ireland. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Architecture in 1945 and made his debut in the movie Odd Man Out (1947). He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 1955 for the movie Robinson Crusoe. His works include RoboCop (1987) and Twin Peaks (1990).
