An American writer and director, born in the city of San Francisco, the United States. His origins are descended from the indigenous people of California. His father worked in sales in the city of San Francisco. By 1930, he was famous for writing and directing comedy films and collaborated with the comedy duo Laurel and Hardy. He also presented many short and musical films and directed films starring Edgar Kennedy and Leon Errol.
