She is a British-born New Zealand singer and actor, born in 1963 in London, UK. Her parents are opera singer Inia Te Wiata and actress Beryl Te Wiata. She moved to London after graduating from the New Zealand Drama School. Her debut was in Sons and Daughters (1986-1987). She is known for her roles in Housebound (2014), Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016), and Shark in the Park (1989-1990).
