German director, writer, and producer born on 23 February 1972 in Munich, Germany. He began his career as a child actor. His notable works include Colonia (2015), Schatten der Zeit (2004), and Quiero ser (I Want to Be...) (2000), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Short Film.
