American actress born Constance Frances Marie Ockelman on 14 November 1922 in Brooklyn, New York, US. In 1938, she enrolled at MGM's Bliss-Hayden School of Acting. Her most notable works include Sullivan's Travels (1941), The Blue Dahlia (1946), This Gun for Hire (1942), and I Married a Witch (1942). She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. She married several times and had 4 children. She died on 7 July 1973 in Burlington, Vermont, US.
