Jean Arthur was an American actress, born in Plattsburgh, New York, on October 17, 1900. She was awarded a Golden Apple in 1942 and a Star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. She acted in the movies Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) The Talk of the Town movie (1942) and The Easy Living movie (1937). Jean Arthur died on June 19, 1991, in Carmel, California, of heart failure.
