American actor and comedian born on 21 July 1937 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. He was discovered by Carl Reiner while doing stand-up but his breakthrough didn't come until he appeared on I Spy (1965), for which he won several Emmy awards. His most notable works include The Cosby Show (1984-1992), Leonard Part 6 (1987), The Bill Cosby Show (1969-1971), and I Spy (1961-1968). He married once and has 5 children.
