American actor, born in Linton, Indiana, USA on June 24, 1904 as Wonga Philip Harris. He married actress Marcia Ralston (1932-1941), and after their separation, he married actress Alice Faye (1941-1995); they had two children, and she remained with him until his death on August 11, 1995 in California, USA from a heart attack. He was one of the prominent names of the forties in radio, cinema, and television. He gained wide fame from the radio series he presented with his wife, Alice Faye. He had a distinctive deep voice, which led him to present many films as a voice actor with Disney as well as many famous songs. He participated in many golf tournaments and fought with the US Army in World War II. His orchestra's theme song was "Rose Room". His works include Robin Hood (1943), The Jungle Book (1967), and The Aristo Cats (1970).
