Syrian writer and journalist, who was born in Homs, Syria on December 2, 1950. She obtained a BA in Arabic literature and worked as a broadcaster on Radio Damascus. She published several studies on her stories in newspapers and magazines. She has four children, the youngest of whom is the screenwriter Ghassan Zakaria. She wrote the TV drama The Visit.
