An Afghan director and writer, born in 1983 in Afghanistan. He took refuge with his family in Pakistan when he was one year old, before settling in Iran. He started developing his cinematic skills at an early age, and after finishing high school, he worked with his brother, producer Navid Mahmoudi. He directed a number of short films and TV series. He is known for A Few Cubic Meters of Love (2014).
