• A Syrian writer of Palestinian origin, born in the city of Tiberias. In 1948, after his family sought refuge in Damascus, he completed his primary and secondary studies. He was involved in Palestinian patriotic work by joining the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine. He then joined the Vanguard for the Popular Liberation War, where he supervised the cultural section of Al-Tala'i (Vanguard) magazine. Al-Tala’i carried many of his poems and articles. He wrote stories, poetry, and articles. His writings expressed his commitment to the cause of the Palestinian people. He depicted the life of exile and suffering, as well as the resistant Palestinian reality. Among his books are the poetry collection “The Clouds” (1965) and the novel “The Trench” (1989). He died on Friday, May 30, 2003, and was buried in Damascus.
