A British engineer, photographer, inventor, and film producer, born in France. After moving to Virginia, he was eventually hired to work at Edison's laboratory in Menlo Park, New Jersey. In 1888, he invented the motion picture camera to help transmit a strip. He is known for Sandow (1896). He died in London, United Kingdom.
