American singer and actress, born on September 4, 1974 in Washington, DC, United States. Her father is singer Marvin Gaye, and her grandfather is singer Slim Gillard. She began her musical career in the early 1990s after working for a while as an actress. She was famous for many songs, such as "I'm Overjoyed", "The Things That We All Do For Love". She is known for many works, such as Blood and Bone (2009) and The Polar Express (2004).
