He married Doris Sellers Childs (1936-1944) and Mary Louise Mag (1954-1969), and he remained with her until he died on November 5, 1960 in...Read more Dallas, Texas, USA of a heart attack. Among his most important works are The Maltese Falcon (1941), It's Wonderful Life (1946), and The Searchers (1956). He was educated at the University of Southern California and joined the university football team. He got a supporting role in the movie Salute (1929). In the fifties, he became a TV star. He played the roles of soldiers, sailors, policemen, and cowboys.
