An American film actress, born on April 1923. She began working in the theater as a teenager, then turned to the cinema and made her first films in 1939. She died from burns she received in a fire on April 10 1965, in Illinois. Her notable films include The Mark of Zorro (1940), Blood and Sand (1941), My Darling Clementine (1946), Forever Amber (1947), and A Letter to Three Wives (1949).
