An English actress, born in Torquay, England. She wrote segments for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Scotland, in addition to writing some episodes for sitcoms. She was also able to disseminate her writings more widely when she wrote a semi-autobiographical series called Miranda (2009-2015), adapted from her radio series entitled Miranda Hart's Joke Shop. She won the Glamor Award for Best Author, the Glamor Award for Best Comedy Actress, and was also nominated for the British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress.
