American actress, born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is known for her comedy performances as she won the Emmy Award for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 1984 and 1985. She gained fame by participating in Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1980. Her credits include Kate & Allie (1984-1987), 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996-2001), and The Librarian III: The Curse of the Judas Chalice (2008).
