English actress and writer, born in London. She was raised by her mother, as her father left them when she was young. She joined Notre Dame School and studied drama and theater. She won several awards, including the 2008 SFX Award for Best TV Actress for Doctor Who (2005). She is known for The Catherine Tate Show (2004-2009) and Love and Other Disasters (2006).
