A German screenwriter and director, born in Berlin, Germany. He published his first articles while he was still a school student. He also worked as a trainee writer for youth magazines before becoming a freelance writer. He collaborated with director Gerhard Klein in establishing Berlin Films, which is a type of cinematic film that deals with the lives of young people in East Germany. He co-directed the film Solo Sunny (1980), which participated in the 30th Berlin International Film Festival. He became a member of the jury of the 35th Berlin International Film Festival in 1985.
