An American actress, born as Lucille Fay LeSueur in San Antonio, Texas, to Thomas E. LeSueur and Anna Bell Johnson. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Mildred Pierce (1945). She died on May 10, 1977 in her apartment in New York of a heart attack. She is known for Grand hotel (1932), The Women (1939), and Hollywood Canteen (1944).
