An award-winning screenwriter and film producer, who has co-written feature films including Cheick Oumar Sissoko's award-winning Bàttu (2000) and the short film Prana (2008). She co-founded Louverture Films with actor Danny Glover and has produced films such as Trouble the Water (2008), Soundtrack for a Revolution (2009), Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (2010), and Hale County This Morning, This Evening (2018), which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary Feature.
