An American actor, born January 21, 1896 and died January 24, 1973. He was nominated twice for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (1943 and 1945), and won the Golden Globes Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1944. He participated in a number of outstanding works, including the 1971 film Dracula vs. Frankenstein 1943. He is famous for his roles in the films Sahara (1943), Blood and Sand (1941), and Violent Saturday (1955).
