American actress, born in New York, United States, to a family of Polish immigrants. She studied at the New York Academy of Music. She also appeared in Vaudeville shows and graduated from Seward Park High School. Her debut was in Team-Mates (1978). She is also known for her role in The Golden Girls (1985-1992). She was nominated for an Emmy Award in the Best Supporting Actress category.
