An American actress, born in the Bronx, New York, on October 7, 1917. She won the Golden Globe Award in 1952 for the movie Too Young to Kiss (1951). After finishing high school, she entered dance competitions and got several roles in musical films, then joined Broadway theaters to present musicals, and gave a role in the dance musical Best Foot Forward, so MGM hired her to provide the same role in the cinema. She died on July 8, 2006 in Ojai, California, of acute pneumonia. She acted in: Till the Clouds Roll By(1946), Little Women (1949), and That's Entertainment! III (1994).
