A director and actor, he is a graduate of the Experimental Theatre Wing at New York University. For over five years, he worked as a caregiver for children with special needs, during which he began creating short videos with them. After years of performing comedy and working in experimental theatre in New York City, he transitioned into filmmaking in 2006, when he directed his first film, Walking To Werner. The film documents his 1,200-mile journey from Seattle to Los Angeles to meet director Werner Herzog, which earned him a spot on Filmmaker magazine's list of 25 New Faces in Independent Film. His film Bass Ackwards, which he wrote, acted in, and directed, was featured at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. He also made a guest appearance in an episode of season four of the series Eastbound and Down and starred alongside Jay Duplass in the film Manson Family Vacation, which he wrote and directed with J. Davis.
