A New Zealand actor and writer, born in 1945 in Wales. He attended the University of Liverpool and earned a BA in English Literature, Celtic Studies, and English Literature. Also, he studied at Oxford University and obtained a Master of Letters degree. He won the Best Actor award at the 2003 New Zealand Film and Television Awards. His credits include Slow West (2015), The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), and Adrift (2018).
