Groucho Marx is an American actor born in New York City, on October 2, 1890 as Julius Henry Marx. He won an Academy Award in 1974, a Prometime Emmy Award in 1951, and two Stars on the Walk of Fame for his work on television and radio. Marx was born to immigrant parents from Italy, and was the middle one between his older brothers Chico, Harpo and the younger Zippo, and Gomo, and they all formed a theatrical performance group known as "The Marx Brothers" and Grocho was the leader during their theatrical work. He was fond of reading, which helped him to write some books. He is best known for acting in A Night at the Opera (1835), and You Bet Your Life (1950). Marx died on August 19, 1977 in Los Angeles, California.
