She is a Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and writer, born on May 6, 1951, in Coonoor, India. At the age of nine, her father sent her to learn Indian classical dance and music. She earned her B.A. from Sophia College for Women. She started her career as a Bharatanatyam soloist. She is known for OK Kanmani (2015), Shyam Singha Roy (2021), and Kaali Khuhi (2020).
