An American director and animator who contributed to the production of many animated films in the 21st century, before getting the opportunity to direct by offering a new take on the character of Spider-Man in the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Bob began his career in animation in 1997 as an assistant animator on Hercules, and continued working at Disney for five years, contributing to films such as Mulan (1998), Tarzan (1999), Fantasia 2000 (1999), The Emperor's New Groove (2000), Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), and Treasure Planet (2002). As 3D animation became more prevalent, Bob moved to DreamWorks Animation, where he worked as a story artist on films like Shrek 2 (2004) and Shrek the Halls (2007). He was promoted to head of story for Puss in Boots (2015), a position he also held on the animated film version of The Little Prince (2015). Along with Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman, he was selected to co-direct the animated film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), which won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as a BAFTA Award.
