Ricky Nelson was born on May 8, 1940, in Teaneck, New Jersey, USA as Eric Hilliard Nelson. He married actress and producer Kristin Harmon (1963-1982), with whom he has 4 children. Among his most important works are The Story of Three Loves (1953), Rio Bravo (1959), and The Wackiest Ship in the Army (1960). Ricky Nelson was an actor and singer of rock and roll. In the late fifties and early sixties, he was considered a teen idol. He was the younger brother of actor and director David Nelson. He received a Golden Laurel Award in 1961 and a star on the Walk of Fame in 1975. Ricky Nelson died on December 31, 1985, in De Kalb, Texas, in a plane crash, along with his band and girlfriend, Helen Blair.
