A British actress, born in London, England, on April 24, 1936, as Jill Dorothy Ireland. She received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1989. Jill married twice, the first to British actor David McCallum (1957-1967) and had 3 children with him, and the second was to American actor...Read more Charles Bronson (1968-1990) and had two children with him and remained with him until her death. Among her most important works are The Mechanic (1972), Chino (1973), Hard Times (1975), and Death Wish II (1982). Jill Ireland worked as a dancer, and in 1955, she began her cinematic work with supporting roles. In the mid-sixties, she moved to the United States of America. After her divorce from McCallum, she married American actor Charles Bronson before he became a famous star, and she met him in 1963 when he was participating with her husband, McCallum, in the movie The Great Escape. In 1970, she participated with Bronson in the joint French film Rider on the Rain, a film that made Bronson a world star, and then participated in 13 of his films. Jill battled breast cancer and published two books about her struggle with the disease, of which she died on May 18, 1990, in Malibu, California.
