An American writer,Before her family ultimately moved in Wilmington, North Carolina, she was born on a US Army post in Virginia and later resided in Hawaii and Germany. She developed a passion for creative writing at school and was awarded a full scholarship to Duke University in the US. After graduating, her love of narrative first took her to video games, then comic books, and finally film writing. She continued to study writing, history, and theology.
