An Indian actress (and previously held British Raj citizenship), born on February 25, 1947 in India. She learned dance under the guidance of Chellappan Pillai and then under Kalamandalam Gangadharan. She started acting in plays when she was 10 years old. Her stage debut was in the play Geethayude Bali. She later joined the Kerala People's Arts Club. She started her career in 1969, and her works include Godfather (1991), Sandesham (1991) and Amaram (1991). Among the awards she won is the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress and the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. She died on February 22, 2022 in Kerala, India.
