An Egyptian author and writer, born on January 29, 1929. He received a BA in Arabic from Fouad I University (Cairo) and graduated from there in 1951. He had a MA and Ph.D. in Arabic literature from Ain Shams University. He graduated from the position of a teaching assistant in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature until he was appointed as a professor at the Faculty of Arts, Ain Shams University. He was the director of the Arab Cultural Center in Bonn, Germany. He held a number of high cultural positions, including: Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian General Book Authority 1982 - 1985, General Secretary of the Supreme Council of Culture 1984. He worked as a professor in a number of Arab universities in Lebanon, Sudan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and others. He was a member of the jury for a number of Arab literary prizes. Among his works is the radio series " Women of Wax".
