A German actor born in Witten, Germany on 18 November 1923. His most notable works include Jonas (1957), Wir Wunderkinder (1958), The Great Escape (1963), and Portrait dines Helden (1966). He married actress and writer Selma Arver (1952-1966) and had three children with her, and remained with her until his death on 4 February 1966 in Munich, Bavaria in Germany..
