American actress, born in New York, United States. She studied political science at Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. She began her artistic career with The Laughmakers (1962). She was also married to the director Woody Allen, with whom she collaborated in Bananas (1971). She is known for Requiem for a Dream (2000), Slither (1973), and National Lampoon's Gold Diggers (2003).
