An Australian actress, born in Cooma, New South Wales, Australia. She was the older sister of actress Paula Duncan. She graduated in 1961 from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, then began her career through theater and commercials, then television series, after which she turned to cinema. She immigrated to the United States in the 1980s and participated in several diverse American works, including cinema and drama, and returned to Australia in the mid-1990s. Among her notable works are Harlequin (1980) and Turkey Shoot (1982). In 2000, Carmen was diagnosed and treated for early-stage breast cancer. She returned to the United States in 2004 to participate in the series As the World Turns. She took a period of retirement from acting in 2006 and became a fundraising manager for the GO Fund, a NSW charity linked to gynecological cancer. She worked as an ambassador for the Breast Care Centre at the Royal Hospital for Women. She died on February 3, 2019, due to breast cancer.
