American actress, born in London, to an American father and a Ghanaian mother. She moved to the United States four years later and was raised by her mother in a suburb of Washington. She is a graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Her acting debut was in the TV series The Education of Max Bickford in 2002. Among her notable works are The Vampire Diaries (2013), The Accountant (2016), and Spartacus (2012-2013).
