He is known for The Prisoner of Zenda (1937) and Little Caesar (1931). He was honored with three stars on the Walk of Fame for his work in film, radio, and television. He received several medals for his service during WWII. He was married 3 times, first to Joan Crawford, then to Mary Lee Eppling, with whom he had 3 children and he stayed with her till she died, then married Vera Fairbanks. He passed away on May 7, 2000, in New York City, USA, from a heart attack.
