An American actor, author, painter, composer, and lyricist. He was born in Fresno, California, USA. He is of Armenian origin. His cousin was the novelist William Saroyan. He was a staff sergeant in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He appeared on Broadway in 1939 in the play The Time of Your Life. He participated in Viva Zapata! (1952), Destination Gobi (1953), and The Proud and Profane (1956). He joined the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. He died in Beverly Hills, California, United States.
