A German actress, born in Berlin, Germany, to a German mother, who was a violinist, and an American father, who was a writer and translator. She trained in dancing and singing. She also worked in commercials and fashion shows, along with her academic studies. Her works include The Mistress of Spices (2005) and The Fourth State (2012).
