An American actress, singer, and dancer. She was born in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, to an African-American father and a Portuguese-American mother. She attended Northside Performing Arts High School and was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. She relocated to New York at the age of seventeen to attend the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center and pursue a career in theater as an actress. She is known for her roles in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1991), Diamond Men (2000), and My Nephew Emmett (2017).
