An Indian screenwriter, costume designer, and art director. She obtained a BA in English from Delhi University and a diploma in stage design from the Slade School of Art, London. She worked at the Frankfurt Municipal Theater in Germany, then joined a German troupe, designed costumes for the theater, and worked as a writer and director for Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA) in Mumbai, India. Among her credits are Garm Hava (1974) and Umrao Jaan (1981).
