A Mexican-American singer born on April 16, 1971. she has been described as the "Queen of Tejano Music". She was killed in 1995 at the age of 23 in the United States. Her name shined in the early nineties. Born to American parents of Mexican descent, her talent for singing began to be evident when she was six years old. At nine, she became the lead singer of a band that bore her name. And when she was twelve, Selena entered into contracts with record companies that released her first album, You Dream. Her last album was released in more than thirty-nine countries all over the world. Her popularity grew even more after her death. In 1997, Jennifer Lopez portrayed Selena in a film about her life co-starring the 1994 American film Gentleman Juan Marco.
