A Pakistani activist, born on July 12, 1992. She was the youngest Nobel Prize winner ever. She was known for advocating for human rights, especially education and women's rights, in the Swat Valley area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, northwest of Pakistan, where the Taliban prevented girls from attending school. Malala's campaigns have received international support. In early 2009, Malala, aged 12, wrote a pseudonym blog for the BBC about the details of her life under the Taliban's control of the area, who were trying to control the valley, and about her view of the state of girls' education in the Swat Valley and ways to enhance it. The following summer, New York Times journalist Adam Lee presented a documentary about her life during the Pakistani army's intervention in the area. Ever since she became very famous and made many interviews. She was nominated for the International Children's Peace Award by South African activist Desmond Tutu.
