An American actress, born in Brooklyn, New York, USA, on July 29, 1905, as Clara Gordon Bow. She received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. Clara married actor Rex Bell (1931-1962) and had two sons with him, Rex Bell Jr. and George Robert. She is known for Wings (1927), It (1927), The Wild Party (1929), and Call Her Savage (1932). Clara was born in a poor environment in Brooklyn to a schizophrenic mother and a poor father. She won a photo beauty contest which enabled her to start her cinematic career. Bow participated in a number of silent movies, but with the introduction of sound into movies, her popularity began to decline. She was diagnosed with schizophrenia in 1949. Clara Bow died on September 27, 1965, in West Los Angeles, California, USA, of a heart attack.
