A Spanish director, producer, and writer, born on October 21, 1958, in San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain, as Julio Medem Lafont. His notable works include Sex and Lucía (2001) and Lovers of the Arctic Circle (1998). He obtained a degree in medicine from the University of the Basque Country in 1985. He won many awards for most of his works. Julio is the father of Peru Medem, Alicia Medem, and Ana Medem. He is also the brother of Ana Medem.
