An Indian director and writer, born to Indian poet Gulzar and actress Rakhee. She began her career as an assistant to director Saeed Akhtar Mirza in the movie Naseem (1995). She directed her first movie in 2002 entitled Filhaal... after two shorts. She also writes poetry and has directed several documentaries.
