She was born in Bemidji, Minnesota, USA, on June 21, 1921. Jan Russell received the Golden Apple Award in 1955, the Golden Boot Award in 1984 , the Berlin International Prize in 1991 and the Lifetime Prize in 2001. She received a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960. Among the most important works of her: Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), Fate Is the Hunter (1964), Manner I'm Trenchcoat, and others. Jan Russell died on February 28, 2011 in Santa Maria, California, USA from acute respiratory failure.
