British actor born Lionel Mander in Wolverhampton, UK on 14 May 1888. He made his Hollywood debut on The Three Musketeers (1939). His other notable works include Murder, My Sweet (1944), Wuthering Heights (1939), and To Be or Not to Be (1942). He married twice and had one child. He died on 8 February 1946 in Hollywood, California, US.
